PRIVACY POLICY
Updated on June 12, 2024
Luc Guy Chénier, a citizen of Canada (“us”, “we”, or “our”) uses cookies on www.dad.ceo and affiliated websites (collectively the “Site”) and is the controller of the information collected or provided via Site.
What’s in a cookie?
A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers.
Use of cookies on our website and app
We use cookies on our website and app to collect information about how visitors use the site and to enhance aspects of the performance of our website and app. This is important to us as we want to deliver and improve our visitors’ user experience across the website and app. Cookies are not harmful to your computer. We do not use cookies to store any personal or sensitive information about you, nor do we pass any of your personal details to third parties. However, for your peace of mind, we have detailed all the cookies we use on the www.dad.ceo website below so that you can see exactly what we use them for.
YOUR RIGHTS RELATED TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Subject to local law, you have certain rights regarding the Personal Information we collect, use or disclose, including the right:
We use the following cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website, use a shopping cart, or make use of e-billing services.

Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Functionality cookies. These are used to recognize you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalize our content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).

Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose

How do third-parties show adverts?

At times, third parties may show our adverts outside of our website. If you visit the site, having browsed content, and then leave, third parties may ‘remember’ this visit and display a relevant advert within another website you visit. This process is commonly referred to as remarketing or retargeting. The three services this website uses for remarketing are Google, Facebook, and Bing.

How do third-parties use cookies to serve adverts?

Third parties ‘remember’ you and can display adverts through cookies. Cookies may be sent to your browser when you visit a page on the site, which will then be used to show adverts based on the content you browsed.

The use of first and third-party cookies

Our website, app and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to report how your ad impressions, other uses of ad services, and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services are related to visits to your site.

What to do if you don’t want cookies to be set
Some people find the idea of a website storing information on their computer or mobile device a bit intrusive, particularly when this information is stored and used by a third party without them knowing. If you prefer, it is possible to block some or all cookies or even to delete cookies that have already been set; although if you do this you may lose some of the website functionality and may not be served relevant adverts. If you don’t want to receive cookies, you can modify your browser so that it notifies you when cookies are sent to it or you can refuse cookies altogether. You can also delete cookies that have already been set. If you wish to restrict or block web browser cookies that are set on your device then you can do this through your browser settings. Click on the Help function within your browser to find out more. You can opt-out of Google’s use of cookies by amending your Google Ad settings: www.google.com/settings/ads. Please note, by turning off your personalization across the web and on Google Search, you may still see adverts. You can opt-out of a third party’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. If you would not like us to know your site activity you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Internet Explorer will sometimes load the Google Analytics opt-out add-on after sending data to Google Analytics. If you are using Internet Explorer, the add-on will set cookies on your computer which will ensure that any data collected is removed immediately from the collection server. Please make sure that third-party cookies aren’t disabled for your Internet Explorer browser. If you delete your cookies, the add-on will reset these cookies, within a short time, to ensure that your Google Analytics browser add-on remains fully functional. To block cookies on a mobile app, please refer to the iOS or Android websites for further information. Alternatively, you may wish to visit www.aboutcookies.org for further information.
